Hormuud Foundation supports SEDDCO primary and secondary school For the deaf
To promote equal access to education, Hormuud Telecom foundation donated $5000 to SEDDCO, which is school project that emphasizes educational programs that focus on students with hearing impairment. The school will use this fund to finance annul school rent, salaries of the teachers, fuel, and transportation for the students. Finally the school administration thanked Hormuud Telecom foundation for their generosity.
Since 2013 Hormuud foundation has funded and run Alnuur School for the blind. The Foundation covers all sorts of costs for the school such as boarding facilities, chartered buses for the students, teachers’ fees, utility and rental expenses among others. In late 2019 the school will be relocated to a brand-new school built by the Foundation.
Hormuud Telecom Foundation – the Corporate Social Responsibility wing of Hormuud Telecom – is the first corporate foundation in the history of the country. The Foundation provides an array of charitable works to support critical sectors such as healthcare, education, economic development and emergency response. It also focuses on science, art and culture as well as youth deployment programs.
